Empowering parents in special education

Navigating special education can be complex, but you don't have to do it alone. My name is Kelly Leslie and I am the founder of KLL Education Advocacy. My goal is to become a trusted partner, offering compassionate guidance and expertise for parents navigating the Ontario education system. I am dedicated to helping you advocate effectively for your child's learning needs, as well as better understand the complexities of special education in the primary, junior, and intermediate grades (K-8).

My expertise at KLL Education Advocacy

I have had the pleasure of being in the education system for 35+ years. My career began as a classroom teacher working with all elementary aged students, and then as a middle school guidance counselor. With the realization that I wanted to impact students on a larger scale I entered administration, first as a vice-principal, and finally as a principal for 12+ years. I have also been an instructor at the Faculty of Education of a renowned university in Ontario. I have a Bachelor of Education degree, as well as a Master of Professional Education. A passion of mine has always been special education and I have been a strong advocate for inclusive education, programming, and resources that are tailored to the individual learning needs of our neuro-diverse student population. I have also collaborated with many families in navigating the complexities of special education, for example the diagnosis and identification process, IEP development and maintenance,  as well as school meetings.
